description

Artists have always found inspiration in the aquatic--from the vastness of the open ocean, where clear water rolls in deep cobalt waves, to the stillness of shallow watersheds lit by the song of bullfrogs and Painted Buntings. This exhibition of works by members of the American Society of Marine Artists, Blue Water/Still Water, will highlight contemporary artists whose work focuses on all aspects of marine life. The works selected for this juried exhibition display a variety of subjects from rusty boat yards to idyllic sunsets over calm waters, as well as the marine life inhabiting the waters. The mediums range from watercolor, oils and acrylics to bronze and scrimshaw on ivory.
