Artist and writer Charlotte Perkins Gilman, who was discouraged from pursuing a career to preserve her health, rejected these ideas in a short story titled “The Yellow Wall-Paper.” Exhibit continues through Saturday, Jan. 26. National Museum of Civil War Medicine, 48 E. Patrick St., Frederick, Md. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m Sunday.
