locationWashington County Museum of Fine Arts (1) descriptionA Spattering of Modern examines the awakening of American printmaking and its integral role within art movements of the late-twentieth century. This exhibit explores the technical experimentation and diverse styles of celebrated artists, while highlighting paintings that expand beyond abstract expressionism into later styles and innovative methods. Join us on Saturday, January 30 at 2:30 p.m. for an illustrated lecture by Lauren Ippolito, Curatorial Intern. The exhibit features works by abstract expressionist, Robert Motherwell, post-painterly abstract artist, Helen Frankenthaler, hard-edged painter Frank Stella and pop graphic artists Robert Indiana and Roy Lichtenstein.
