Political Parties (class)
In this program, we will follow the origins of our modern two-party political system. We begin with the Constitutional Convention of 1787 and the ensuing ratification debates in the states. Other major topics include: (1)The Federalists and the Democratic-Republicans (2) the Democrats and the Whigs (3) the Democrats and the Republicans. Within each topic, we will cover the leading proponents and their policies; and how each party came to be formed.
