Spring Birding (class, outdoor adventure)
Hagerstown Community College (5)
Every year thousands of song birds migrate north into our Mid-Atlantic region. Join Dave Weesner, area birding specialist and discover the joy of spring birding! The first session will introduce you to the spring birding basics focusing on: migration, silhouettes, identification, equipment and habitat. You will discover where and how to find birds in Washington County and Maryland with a focus on Spring Migration. This class will culminate in a local birding field trip to view habitat and identify these beautiful birds. Please bring binoculars and bird book, dress in layers and wear waterproof shoes. Lecture will be held on Wednesday, May 16 and the field trip date is Saturday, May 19, 7:00AM - 10:00AM, location for this field trip to be discussed in class session.
